A long-awaited Mexican restaurant is now open in Worthington – 614NOW

A new option for authentic central Mexican cuisine is now open in Worthington.

That’s because Chapala Mexican Grill is now officially open for business.

Located at 530 N. High St. in Worthington, Chapala took over the former location of Brugger’s Bagels, which closed in 2020.

The new Mexican restaurant held a private opening last weekend, before holding its official opening on February 21. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

According to co-owner Luiz Munoz, the Chapala Mexican Grill will feature central Mexican cuisine. The new restaurant takes its name from Chapala, Mexico, an idyllic town bordering Lake Chapala, the country’s largest freshwater lake.

“We are very excited to open, but at the same time we know we have a great responsibility to serve great food and drink and to be part of the community with respect, not just to to be another Mexican restaurant in town,” Muoz said.
