Mexico’s Hotel Esencia Just Opened An Epic New ‘Mansion’ With 4 Suites – Robb Report
Mexico’s Riviera Maya is known for its beautiful beaches that stretch from Tulum to Puerto Morelos. Next month, the famous coastline will earn another drawcard.
Hotel Esencia, the beloved hideaway once home to an Italian Duchess, opens a lavish escape for the 21st century royals in September. The new Esencia Mansion spans a breathtaking 12,000 square feet and features four suites that can accommodate up to eight of your crew. It was created by the hotel’s in-house design team and New York interior designer Giancarlo Valle, who was commissioned by the hotel’s current owner, Kevin Wendle.
Born out of Wendle’s love of welcoming family and friends to his homes around the world, the rectory will act as a second “main home” to the existing boutique hotel. Just steps from the shores of idyllic Xpu Ha Beach, the elegant abode will feature artwork by contemporary artist (and frequent hotel guest) Marcel Dzama, as well as pieces from Wendle’s personal collection.
Inside the main saloon you will find a bar for entertaining and an intimate lounge with oversized windows that showcase the tropics. The kitchen with dining area is equipped with modern appliances that you or your private chef can use to prepare your meals. There is also a large family kitchen which connects to a breakfast terrace.
The light-filled master bedroom is connected to a luxurious master bathroom with a shower room, a bathtub, double sinks and an indoor-outdoor swimming pool. Adjacent to the bedroom is an office which opens onto a terrace with a hammock and a view of the main pool below.
The other three “jungle suites” include peaceful outdoor terraces and separate living rooms. On the roof of the rectory, meanwhile, you’ll find a plunge pool, a covered terrace that seats 20, a collection of lounge chairs, and 360-degree ocean views.
As for equipment, guests can utilize a fitness studio stocked with high-tech equipment, such as the on-demand virtual trainer known as The Mirror, a Woodway treadmill, and Pent Fitness weight sets. . Another standout is the hidden screening room with seating for 20 guests. There’s even an underground speakeasy with a secret jungle entrance and a DJ booth that can be occupied on demand. The bar is well stocked, of course.
To top it off, Hotel Esencia offers private helicopter service and airport transfers. You can also book private tours to visit must-see parts of the area, such as the ruins of Tulum, Coba, Bacalar, and Merida.
Rates for the Esencia Mansion start at $11,000 per night. This fee includes private round-trip transportation, a personal concierge, daily in-villa breakfast, and a resident chef.
